About Me

Ashish Ranjan is an independent researcher who has been working on both quantitative and qualitative research work over the last 12 years. He has worked with the most reputed institutions in the country across disciplines: Delhi Legislative Assembly, India Today-Aajtak group, Ashoka University, Centre for Policy Research (CPR), Lokniti, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), along with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

Ashish is a researcher with his ears close to the ground and a team player with a proven track record of working successfully with people from varied backgrounds. Interested in understanding Indian politics from the vantage point of the elections, Ashish has designed, led and conducted electoral surveys in different states in India.
He is a bilingual communicator in both written and spoken Hindi and English. He appeared frequently on TV channel debates with top anchors in the last seven years. He travelled and studied assembly elections in eighteen (18) states in the last Eight years. He has written more than hundred articles on the Indian elections and voting behaviour in different academic and media spaces (Print and Digital both) – The Hindu, The Indian Express, Hindustan Times, India Today, The Print, The Wire, BBC Hindi, AajTak, Satyagrah, First Post, and the magazine like Down to Earth and University of Nottingham. He delivered lectures on Indian election at many prestigious institution/universities in India like Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Department of Political Science, University of Delhi (DU), Hindu College, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College University of Hyderabad, Guwahati University, Lovely Professional University (LPU) etc.
